Our Story
Acoustic Blend Café is an organization hosting monthly acoustic concerts that have been operating in the Hamilton area since 2009. In 2016, we expanded the concept by starting a concert series in Milton. The operating year runs from October through to May, producing 6 – 7 concerts each series. The 2.5 hour concerts are offered in a relaxed, coffee house setting with light refreshments, feature an “open mic” to start, then showcase local talent from different genres, the only condition being that they are acoustic in nature. The open mic portion of the evening affords emerging artists the opportunity to practice performing in front of a live audience followed by the possibility to learn from watching the experienced feature performers. Some of the feature performers had their start at open mic!
Our goal is to build community by supporting Canadian talent and businesses and to.provide guests with an affordable venue where they can experience quality entertainment and camaraderie. We plan on providing a space for progressing and emerging talent to perform, and to broaden the Canadian music scene in a culture that is seeing live music venues steadily closing.
We focus on building community by supporting Canadian talent and business, by offering advertising space in brochures, featuring their products during the performances as well as promoting them during the show through between-act announcements.
Acoustic Blend Café’s founder and director Jason Hales, has been involved in the Canadian music scene throughout his life. He is a graduate of the University of Toronto Opera Program, and has received his Honours Bachelor of Music from Lakehead University.
While vocally classically trained, he performs all styles of music from opera to country, folk to rock. He has performed in a variety of staged music productions, solo and choral concerts, and private events. Jason teaches singing, guitar, ukulele and piano.
He began Acoustic Blend Café because he is passionate about providing an affordable venue for people to enjoy live music. He believes local talent deserves a moment in the spotlight and not just in the background of a restaurant or bar.

MUSIC LESSONS
Acoustic Blend Cafe is pleased to be offering Private Music Lessons. More information can be found here.
Lessons take place at 348 Bronte St S, Milton, ON L9T 5B6. in the classrooms of the Milton Tutoring Centre. All Students will have the opportunity to perform as part of the Open Mic porition in the Acoustic Blend Cafe concert series.
